N A R C I S S I S T ! Remove all narcissists from your life, they are a drain on you emotionally, financially and every other way. They will never be there when you need them, they will always use you when they can. The world revolves around them. They are unable to walk in anyones shoes. They are perhaps the worst type of person there is.

I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public. When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99 percent honest is no longer enough. "I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then. I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby. "It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up -- feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help. "I have given a complete interview on this matter and having done so, will have nothing more to say." --- So let's parse this: "When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99 percent honest is no longer enough." a. The fact he was banging this lady in 2006 and met her at 2am in a hotel just last month was only 1% of the truth? b. Politicians are held to a higher standard today? Is he serious? "I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then." So what? The very next year he was out spouting how important marital fidelity was to the presidency, knowing full well he put his family through that ordeal (if we believe his version of this story) the very year before--as if he somehow measured up, gee, just look what a loving family he has, his wife even lets him run despite a renewed bout with terminal cancer. What a Leave It To Beaver family! "I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby." Hmmm. OK, well, that makes the paternity test inevitable. Let's suppose it's not his kid and it is instead that of this Andrew Young guy. Apparently his campaign was passing this babe around like a piece pipe. Yet nobody knew! How plausible is any of this? Not very. A minor point: "I am not the father of any baby"--he did not specify "of this woman"... so is he denying his three kids by Elizabeth as well? I know, I know--a bit pedantic. But still--this part of it reads like a legal claim and I couldn't help but notice, especially considering he's a lawyer like Derr Schlickmeister and loves to load nuance into his messages. This may help explain some of Elizabeth's mysterious cooperativeness. "In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic." (You don't say!) "If you want to beat me up -- feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself." Translation: I am still such a narcissist that I don't even think YOU can beat me up as bad as I can beat me up. I'm "too sexy for my smackdown, too sexy for my smackdown..." "I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help." Translation: I am still such a narcissist that I believe my family and other people actually need *my* help. Is this guy a piece of work or what? Let's go back to the rub of the matter though: "I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby." OK, so the limiting verbs (assuming of course he's being truthful) are "request," "agreed to" and "supported". He could very well have simply "implied" or "turned a willful blind eye toward" and otherwise "trusted that his handlers knew what to do"--even to the point of jumping on the sword for him (thank you, Andrew!). He also here does NOT deny he "knew" about such arrangements. Anyway. Also note Bonior's reaction (Bonior was his campaign manager in his presidential bid, another perfectly corrupt Dem): http://www.knbc.com/politics/17135521/detail.html --- David Bonior, Edwards' campaign manager for his 2008 presidential bid, said he was disappointed and angry at Friday's news. "Thousands of friends of the senator's and his supporters have put their faith and confidence in him, and he's let them down," said Bonior, a former congressman from Michigan. "They've been betrayed by his action." Asked whether the affair would damage Edwards' future aspirations in public service, Bonior replied: "You can't lie in politics and expect to have people's confidence." --- LOL! The only thing these people are angry about is the fact the news got out on Friday -- i.e., that they got caught, and had to admit it, they and their media sycophants, all of whom HAD to know about this, it simply isn't conceivable that they didn't know about it. There are way too many moving parts in this story. Everything was honky dory until even the Enquirer was able to unearth the obvious facts, and they got out. (See my other post about the media's "excuse" for missing the story: "Journalism is so gosh darn hard!") On one level, who cares about his private life, right? Well, the bigger issue is the layers of deception these politicians pile up, and how the media selectively deals with them. No wonder people read the Enquirer... you can't trust the New York Times and other major "news" outlets to do the investigative work, particularly if the politician is a Democrat. - Bob > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Bob Calco > Sent: Saturday, August 09, 2008 8:54 AM > To: 'ProFox Email List' > Subject: RE: [OT] Edwards admits sexual affair; lied as presidential > candidate > > MSNBC put out this puff piece exonerating the media for missing the > story: > > http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26099046/ > > Summary: Journalism is hard! > > I guess they should leave it to the professionals at the Enquirer.
