Hi, use the sp_attach_single_file stored procedure:

EXEC sp_attach_single_file_db @dbname = 'pubs',
     @physname = 'c:\mssql7\data\pubs.mdf'


you will get an error saying the log may be incorrect, then Sql server 
will build a new log file
