So,... trying to drag this NF-thread back onto its NF topic again... Is M$ keeping Novell alive so it has a laboratory where it can experiment with its unholy proprietary-OpenSource hybrid abominations, while still keeping the experiments at arms-length from Redmond? Is it propping up Novell as a strawman for "Open Source competitors" to trot out in front of the EU? (So far, they haven't been much impressed!) Or is there a more subtle plot afoot, wheels-within-wheels, as perhaps a second round of the Novell-Noorda-Corsair-Canopus-Caldera-SCO-SCOX-IBM-AutoZone-HP plot? Inquiring minds want to know.
