Imagine you're Bill Gates: Okay, so Apple grabbed P-funk's George Clinton
and Einstein for the Think Different campaign, then slam dunks your street
cred and annihilates your image with the Mac vs PC ads. You launched a
product two years late, it sucked, and pretty much nobody wants. On top of
that, you woke up one morning and discovered you left Steve Ballmer in
charge now... It's not completely desperate, but you need something that's
going to reinvigorate your brand and getting people talking about the
wonders of your cash cow. Who do you pick? Of course! That irrepressible
icon for middle class uber-white America that's over 50, Jerry Seinfeld! You
remember him from his hit show a million years ago, right? And he's relevant
to all the young kids now days... right? Didn't I see him up with JayZ at
the Garden? Or out at Bonaroo? Yeah... Sienfeld... He'll be GREAT!

That is the Product Placement people who sell those advertising services to
potential vendors.

I just find it funny that M$ took this long to react. Didn't they see it as
a vulnerability? Oh maybe they did.
