I use a combination of Break Free CLP to clean my handguns, and
Militec-1, which is a lub that bonds to the metal to keep the parts dry,
but lubed, so the weapon does not attract dust, dirt, or sand.

1) Spray some Break Free CLP down the barrel of your handgun, and then
run a brittle wire rod down the barrel 2 or 3 times, and then apply patch.
2) Spray some Break Free CLP down the barrel of your handgun, and then
run a softer wire rod down the barrel 2 or 3 times, and then apply patch.
3) Apply a generous amount of Militec-1 to a patch, and then run the
patch down the barrel until the inside of the barrel is well
lubricated. Apply some heat to the barrel to allow the Militec-1 to
bond to the metal and dry.
