>Puts it into an individual perspective, but why should we bail out the >fat cats? He doesn't say so, but they will get it from us one way or >another, this might be the most orderly way. 1. We are already taking foreign money as they buy our securities. 2. The low ball $700B for the latest bailout scheme is about the same as the amount we are sending overseas because we don't have our own oil. 3. Frank had a point with the quote you gave, but missed it when he said that the crisis was created by the private sector and it's up to the govt to fix it. While the private sector greed and dishonesty has contributed greatly, we can't overlook the encouragement of govt entities to give loans to people who could not afford them and the artificially low interest rates and excessive money supply from the Fed. This bit us two ways, first it created the mess with unsustainable loans and second it devalued the dollar which made everything more expensive. 4. I would not be opposed to handling the managers of the banks and funds the cooked the books or lied about the quality of the bundled loans they sold in the same way the Chinese deal with execs caught selling defective products, etc. Heck, it would increase the organs available for transplant. 5. Next would be the politicians who took big contributions and looked the other way. -- Larry Miller www.SoDrillAlready.com Government is not the solution to the problem, it is the problem.
