I could believe this about him, if I didn't also know about his close
political ties to folks like Ayers/Dorhn, or Khalid Al-Monsour, or Raila
Odinga, or ACORN, or Saul Alinsky, or the Democratic Socialists ("New
Party") in Chicago, or his "spiritual mentor's" embrace of Black Liberation
Theology and Louis Farrakhan.

Those minor details I find rather hard to reconcile to his media-created
image of a thoughtful, intelligent, post-partisan, post-racial candidate. I
see a master dissembler and enabler. He even admitted as much in his
memoirs, when talking about how he hid his drug use from his mother.

I don't know how you do it, other than you must be ignoring the evidence or
convincing yourself it's all made up.

I also don't know how you give characters like Raines, Johnson, Barney
Frank, Chris Dodd and other Democrats (like Joe Biden's son) with their
hands all over this credit collapse crisis a free pass. Any outrage you feel
at the people who causes it seems ill-placed, if you think voting for Obama
will punish the folks who caused this mess. It was indeed McCain and the
Republicans, and not the Democrats or Obama, who were sounding the alarm in
2004 and 2005, about the practices that lead to this meltdown.

Finally I don't know how you think an Obama presidency with a Democratically
controlled Congress (possibly one with a filibuster proof majority in the
Senate) will be anything but an unmitigated, fast-track disaster.
