- - - I have previously posted about Barack Obama's involvement in the socialist led Illinois New Party here, here and here. Below are scans from New Party News Spring 1996. They prove that Barack Obama was a member of the Illinois New Party and was endorsed by them in his 1996 Illinois State Senate race. - - - I think this is a big deal. The New Party was an offshoot of the Democratic Socialists of America party and, guess who?, ACORN, designed specifically to work within the Democratic party to pull it leftward. The arguments about whether he is a "socialist" have been centering, stupidly, on the "spread the wealth" charge, which is fundamentally hypocritical since all the fine Patriots in Congress engage in that sublime activity as a matter of "satisfying constituents". Socialism as an ideology is very different than mere vote buying and occasionally robbing Peter to pay Paul to grease the wheels of democracy, and ties to radical leftists whose ideas of socialism are MUCH more, shall we say, sincere, not to mention dangerous, should be a matter of concern. I have yet to find a shred of evidence that Barack Hussein Obama is in fact a liberal.
