Hi Michael!

Some colored person would take it down, no doubt in the dead of night.
That is what is happening to the McCain signs.

I remember being a Cab Driver in Detroit in 1970 through 1975. There was
a Detroit police undercover unit called STRESS (Stop The Robberies,
Enjoy Safe Streets) in those days.

The STRESS cops would dress up dirty and stagger around pretending to be
drunk with thick wallets sticking out of their pockets stuffed with
cash. When the uh, criminals, would try to rob them they would attempt
to arrest the criminals, who would invariably make a fight of it.
Incidental to these fights more than a dozen "black" men were killed in
the space of a few years.

The "black community" didn't like this and it became political. Somehow
it was alright for white cops to be killed trying to arrest black crooks
but not alright for the white cops to kill the crooks who were trying to
kill them, but logic is racist so . . .

In the midst of this controversy I got a bumper sticker to put on my cab
that said "We need STRESS". Never got a ticket with THAT sticker on the
bumper, remarkable since cabbies get tickets all the time.

Well, as I was gassing up the cab one day one of the (colored) road
bosses took the sticker off of my cab, told me I could have that sticker
on my private car but not on my cab. I checked with my real boss and he
said he agreed with me having the sticker but no one could buck the
(sacred) n-words so . . .
