Appears and is has two different conotations. I said appears. I haven't met you. Therefore, I can't make an judgement if you're a decent or indecent American. Just because we disagree doesn't necessarily make you decent or indecent.
I have a friend and we disagree with each other on many topics. If he was a model for Canadians, you would say Candadians deserve to be hated around the world.
