Hi Adam! Government costs for things include the personnel, logistics, venues and material costs of competitive bidding. So an ordinary hammer costs a few thousands by the time they get it. The $100 G toolbox could have been had for a few thousand had it not been for all the bureaucracy. In other words, you or I run over to Home Depot and get the dang toolbox. They have meetings, draw up specifications, write reports, hire consultants, test a number of possible selections, write more reports - two years later, then they run over to Home Depot and find that the one they selected isn't made any more. Then it starts over. Finally, the kit is complete - and the grease gun blows up the first day. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
