I think the issue is that congress can't wrap their brains around really
large numbers like $750B, but that they understand numbers like $14B. The
large bailout they passed without a lot of conversation, but the small
bailout for the automakers is something they're all over like white on rice.

As far as Obama goes, he's not a senator anymore and he's not yet the
president. All he can do is say what his opinion is, and keep working on the
transition.

IMO, it is more important that he get ready to take over on 1/20/09.
