There are various ways to do the sync-up. All I care about with a web app is that I at least get a copy of my own data somehow. A while back our kennel software went to a web system. I did a trial with it for a month and had to revert back to desktop because they had no way for me to function without an internet connection. I now have access to the internet nearly anywhere via a broadband card, but at the time that really scared me off. Now I just want that extra security of having my own copy of my own data in case I need to switch vendors or want to do something else with my data in addition to using their software. I hate it when vendors can't see that I have my OWN reasons for having access to my data outside of their products. Surely having access to the data about our own dogs should not be a deal killer. Web apps are the future. The only hold up for me with web apps is data access. Apps that have that solved are a terrific option for me. I love using them, and writing them. I think we all use them by now. Virtually all of my banking is done online, and we even place our puppies online. All of this winter's litters were placed online and we even collected the payments and sent the info packages online this time. I love internet marketing!
