That's certainly possible.

I was doing a lot of work with Far East suppliers in 2001 and almost all of 
them were sending infected files.  We used Norton Antivirus Corporate so I was 
able to monitor the 150 or so computers we had and almost all of the viruses it 
caught were coming from overseas.

Since I suspect these frames are being mass produced at the cheapest factories 
in china, it doesn't surprise me that they could be distributing viruses, 
either unknowingly or on purpose.
