Just read how well it works out when monopolies are split up to understand what 
likely would have
happened. Instead of being #1 with a bloated infrastructure that is slowing 
them down and making
them vulnerable, they would be more agile and likely be #1, #2, and #5 (numbers 
pulled out of air,
not based on actual revenues). Sure there might be advantages to doing this, 
but all we would be
getting is a different set of issues. At least businesses trying to compete 
today know the ground
rules, and honestly, Microsoft is the most vulnerable as they ever have been in 
their history.
