Back to the Q before you dismiss your limitations of language du juor.
"In VFP, how can I have a structure of my classes wherein I have one class
ground-zero from which all other classes, even of different baseclass type,
will inherit from? "

I ended my statement with a Q "WHY?"

Do you really see the world of software as a hammer and all you need
is some more nails?

Don't you base class your control to many in your private assortment
of tweaked reusable controls.

The benefit is to be able to manipulate your many at a single higher
level by adding a newer feature/property?

A textbox has a whole set of aspects separate from a listbox. Why
cluster F the whole shebang? Sorry but it makes no sense.

So my replay was more along the lines of WTF are you doing and is
there a good reason for it?

You also are going to take into consideration that your controls have
to instantiate and run the code all the way up the chain to the true
base. So why add many more potential layers for no gain?

Do you see the bigger picture now? It was never a slam on VFP.
