Everyone was whining that we had to wait to see what Obama actually did before we judge him. OK, here are a few things he's actually done in barely his first week in the Oval Office.
* Took steps to close Guantanamo Bay and ensure that enemy combatants who might have valuable intel know that they'll never face rough interrogation tactics that even our marines are trained to withstand if they're caught in the battle field. - Incidentally he really botched that press conference... had to ask his lawyer for clarification about what exactly he was signing like it was the first time he saw it, and gave no substantive answer to the question about what becomes of the "enemy combatants"/poor victims there next---a moment that the press would have pounced on if it was a Republican foobarring his own executive order... * Hired a tax cheat for treasury secretary * Abandoned the transparency promise in a number of ways: - Brought Hillary! on board as Sec of State despite secret donors and unexplained conflicts of interest involving the ex-Prez's foundation receiving $$$ from foreign governments - Told reporters they aren't allowed to grace His Presence with questions except in officially designated press conferences - Never has released his medical records or his original birth certificate * Broke his "no lobbyist will work in my administration" rule with the pick of Lynn at DoD * Moved immediately to free federal money so it can be used to murder unborn children abroad * Hired an outright socialist for Climate Czar (I thought liberals hated all these Czar metaphors? I thought socialist charges were nonsense?) * Sells his "stimulus" package as an "infrastructure investment" when in fact only 3% of the nearly $1 trillion in funds are allocated for that purpose, and nobody can exactly explain how such investment supposedly *stimulates* an economy. - He has also moved to bully Republicans into cow-towing to Democrat demands, and made clear his intent to attack alternative media * Sells his restructuring of the tax code to make a majority of tax payers net tax receivers as an "economic stimulus" plan--really it's a plan to make most Americans literally dependent on government and destroy the middle class. There will be only rich and poor and the government, in his Robin Hood state, will be the arbiter of who gets to make how much. (Welcome to the Banana Republic of Amerikkka) * sided WITH Bush's position in an important wire tapping case After this week his thin skin, thick skull and real intentions to break his most important campaign promises are clear for anyone to see. Not like they were hidden from view before Nov 4.
