Or be the wife of a philandering ex-president who has become the darling of foreign governments in recent years, and you get to be Senator and then Secretary of State. Or be a serial plagiarist with a strong propensity to put your foot in your mouth and make asinine statements for 30 years, and you get to be Vice President.
