I January 2009, Beretta USA announced the receipt of a new US Army contract to provide up to 450,000 Beretta model 92FS pistols to US military customers throughout the world. The contract was accompanied by an order for 20,000 pistols intended for the Iraqi military. This is the largest pistol contract awarded to any US pistol manufacture since WW II; a testimony to the endurance and reliability of the world's most trusted sidearm of all time.
In recent years the Army indicated an intention to conduct trials for a new standard service pistol and several prominent handgun makers had positioned themselves to compete for a chance at the prestigious contract. With this development, however, the Army has instead decided to stick with a proven commodity. During the announcement for the precedent-setting contract, company president Cav. Ugo Gusalli Beretta noted that during all the tens of thousands of test-firings of Model 92FS pistols there had been only one malfunction. "We are honored to see the quality and performance of the Beretta Model 92FS pistol continued to be acknowledged in this dramatic way," said Dr. Beretta. "It is clear that the Beretta 9mm pistol still sets the standard for military users around the world." http://www.americanrifleman.org/BerettaPistolContract.html http://beretta92.com/berettahome.htm Regards, LelandJ Michael Madigan wrote: > http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=57330288965&h=ljiM0&u=08WQp > > ************************************************* > I'm Surviving The Obama Depression > > http://www.cafepress.com/rightwingmike/6535062 > [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
