Hi Everybody!

I have been using Mepis for years as a Windows replacement. In Windows I
was able to routinely install new software without breaking things.

Of course, Windows would break all by itself. OK, the viruses, spyware,
automatic update and maybe the eula helped.

However, in Linux I am a mere user. Can't figure out the docs, or even
find them most of the time. After at least 5 years I have no idea what
kind of software package to use with Mepis.

I have been relying on the built in Synaptic to install software, and it
works OK if the way-old versions will do. However, Flash 10 is out and
as soon as a new Flash is out all the lemmings flock to it for whatever.

They have .tar, .rpm, YUM or .deb flavors. Which do I use for Mepis 7;
Firefox 2.0.0.11?
