Yes, Obama was very fast on his feet, (eg quick), and controlled the press conference very well, avoiding baited questions by responding in a way that stayed on his message. President Obama is a very polished politician, but President John F. Kennedy was probably the best I've ever seen at handling the press and debating. President Kennedy was very relaxed in public and even managed to introduce a bit of humour during his press conferences, but Obama will get better with experience.
