CARACAS, Venezuela - President Hugo Chavez said Saturday he hopes to
"reset" relations with the United States at an upcoming summit.
Despite recent criticism of President Barack Obama, Chavez said he wants to
bring relations between the two governments back to a "rational level."
"I'll be willing to press the reset button," he said in a telephone call to
Venezuelan state television from Iran. "I hope that will be the policy of
President Obama."

Obama's new Comrade must have put some smack down on Chavez. I can almost
hear how the conversation went:
"Comrade Chavez!"
"Yes, Comrade Medvedev?"
"You must be nicer to our new Comrade, Obama!"
"But Comrade, he's a n...An American!"
"No, he is one of us, Comrade!"
"An autocratic thug?"
"Ye--er, no, I mean he's a Comrade!"
"A Comrade?"
"Yes, Comrade, a Comrade."
"Wow, that's fantastic news, Comrade! Should I hit the 'overcharge' button?"
"No, Comrade, it's the 'reset' button. Comrade Clinton's Russian translator
was one of our people, whose job it was to find out how easy it is to
infiltrate the State Department. This was her signal to let us know it
worked! What we didn't expect was that Comrade Clinton *knew* about it
(stupid FISA law is a real pain in the ass!), and still wanted us to know it
worked. Hence, she's a Comrade, too, it turns out. Oh glory days!"
"Brilliant, Comrade, just brilliant!"
"It was Comrade Vlad's idea. Every idea is Comrade Vlad's idea. :("
