I have used Parallels with Mac, and found it to be real decent. I also have tried VMware Fusion for Mac. Both perform well, but I never tried Parallels for non-Mac. If these competing Mac products are any indication, I would anticipate their non-Mac apps to be on par for their Workstation offerings. I do not know if Parallels has a product like ESXi where there is no Linux or Windows host OS, but rather a proprietary, very thin OS layer (Bare Metal install) where they eliminate a lot of host OS overhead, resulting in a very lean Server that preserves resources for the guest machines. I would be interested in seeing more of Parallels offerings, but not until I get this ESXi stuff nailed down...
