Application Development: 19 Reasons Why Microsoft Is Huge with
Developers (and 1 Reason Why Not)

the origins of the company when Bill Gates noted that winning the
hearts and minds of developers would be essential for Microsoft's
success. As evidenced by the focus on application development at the
recent Microsoft TechEd North America 2009 conference and the
overwhelming response to the company's May 18 release of Beta 1 of
Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4.0, Microsoft remains close to
the pulse of the developer community.
