Heh, nah. Even a free upgrade to Vista is not "free." You end up paying too 
much in other areas such as relearning where MS hid things... again, 
turning off useless "security" features.. again, trying to "fix" your old 
apps or being forced to buy new ones, and so on. And of course there is the 
typical MS attempts at lock-in. Nope. Nothing about Windows is ever free.

As for Europe, like everyone else, if they want free, they'll choose Linux.
