Mike, Yes, that approach could probably work. But, I was looking to use a kind hard coded approach as a last ditch option. Just to add to what I mentioned before - probably about a 3rd of the system still has to be converted from the old DOS-type system (originally created w/FPD - but is compiled under VFP7) to the new VFP system (vers 9 w/true screen designs).
Its for these reasons, along with trying to make the system easier to maintain - that I was hoping to use a method where by the function called by the Skip For option would actually known/determine by itself from what Menu option it was called - and then proceed accordingly. To pass into the function some kind of hard-coded/pre-designated wording, it would seem that it would make it less flexible, IMHO. -K- -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of MB Software Solutions, LLC Sent: Friday, July 31, 2009 2:51 PM Kurt Wendt wrote: > Mike, > > Thanks for your input. And, it would make updating their system/menu a true headache... I've seen systems where in the SkipFor section they'll call a UDF. Something like CheckPriv("GL") so those who are able to access the General Ledger (the menu item in this example) get a value of .F. returned so that the option isn't skipped.
