I've been on Freecycle for at least 5 years, and am currently on 5 lists. Lists differ in how stringently the rules are enforced, but the rules are clearly listed, easy to follow, and you agree to abide by them when you join. The moderators typically don't have a lot of free time, and it must be frustrating for them to have to continually deal with people who feel they are above the rules, or can't be bothered to follow them. No sympathy points, here. Regarding the one post a week, that's a new one on me, and I'd probably drop off that list if I posted often. However, they do incur group charges for e-mail, so I'm not surprised. People who don't like the rules, can, and have, started their own lists. Some make it, but a lot fail because people don't follow their (new) rules, and they get tired of moderating. PS: Whenever I see a post from some clown that says "NEEDED DESPERATELY!" or "want car" or "stuff offered" (with not even a location), I just delete them unread. Guess that puts me in the Nazi camp, too. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
