I can relate - as they use PUB var's all over the place in the systems
here - which I must support.

You could test the var exists first by seeing if the type is NOT
Undefined - and then, if it DOES exist - capture that Type() for the Var
and it will tell you if its Date or Char or what not...

Although, maybe I am not understanding your question - as the answer
seemed to Obvious even to ME!
