So you are going to prepay for potential repairs now on a monthly basis?

Start a savings account for Car, and put 150. a month into it.  If you
build up 2 years of deposits and no problems, you use that $$$$ as
your down payment on replacement vehicle.

Pay yourself for the issues and you will find that you are working
money much smarter.
