Hi Michael,

They have only succeeded in proving that it is possible *now* to fake a 
relic using old materials. However, does their relic have the wealth of 
detail that Dr. Barbet found when he studied it nearly 100 years ago?

Not only that. Radioisotope dating could have inadvertently measured 
some repair material rather than original material. About the time the 
repairs were made there were re-weavers working who were able to make 
invisible repairs to cloth. This art flourished because cloth was 
expensive in those days.
