      I ended up deleting the periods.

      Putting a space on each side of the ampersand worked ("N&A" ==> 
"N & A").  Supposedly, doubling the ampersand would work (per 
Caption), but I kept getting compilation errors.

      Glitches like this are such a joy.

      It is weird how this just started happening.
