I've taken Kaspersky off one of my laptops and replaced it with MSE.

This is a 3-year old machine AMD64-based machine running 32-bit XP.
First impressions are that it is now much quicker to boot up and
smoother and faster in web usage. It also found 2 nasties that Kaspersky
missed.

I suspect it's faster because it is a simpler product and doesn't have
all the hooks into Outlook and HTTP traffic and everything else that
Kaspersky has. Also possibly because Microsoft have the Windows source
code and can integrate it much more efficiently.

So it's not as 'hardcore' a product as some of the commercial AV, but I
think I'd definitely choose it over any of the other free solutions.
