Oh, I'd *love* to do that. Ed is right -- this machine is "so 90's" --
hard to justify putting any $$ into it at all. Bums me out that I can't
put the newest OS version on it -- just for Intel boxes.

However ---
I've been buying < $200 refurbished machines -- one to replace my Linux
box, which died completely, and one for Vista that I needed for testing
my web stuff on IE8, Chrome, and Safari/Win. My "dearest one" got stuck
with the original Vista machine (also because I needed one for testing,
but between she and the kids I can't get on it at all). She despises it
with all of her heart, and *really* wants a Mac. I keep threatening to
install Ubuntu to see if she'd like it. That is what I wish I'd done
from the beginning, but I 'haven't had time" with this project in late,
late, late beta.

"Sorry, Honey, but you are stuck with your Vista machine while I spend
more money than we have on a shiny-new Mac (to add to he other 3
computers I have in my office). You understand, right? (Right???)"
