Credit where credit is due: That one was funny! I'll toast it with an adult libation later, after I get my work done today. :) > here reminds me of those teen agers rolling > around in their cars feeling so generous they HAVE to share their music > with everybody else. You can hear them coming 3 blocks ahead. Bobby > feels the same generosity with respect to anything he reads, he HAS to > share it. His nick should be "Maximus CopyPaste" or at least "Minimus > Sense". I'm far more discriminating in what I share than you give me credit. Talk about knee-jerks, this one has nothing whatever to do with Obama, and still I get accused of "senseless bashing" of el Presidente. For the record, my bashing of el Presidente makes perfect sense, if you value republican constitutional government, federalism, the importance of avoiding dangerous demagogues for presidents, the delegation style of governance, and the science of economics. Otherwise, you're not likely to grasp my objections, far less my humor. Not YOU, per se, Ricardo, of course, being, such as you are, of such refined wit and inquisitive character; nevertheless, you know what I'm saying. Most of my objections, spelled out here for over a year, have already been vindicated -- e.g., it's since been corroborated by non-partisan sources that Ayers ghost wrote "Dreams"... and my analysis of his character, being, as it is, a bird of the same feather as Ayers, is dead-on. All the myths of his supposed oratorical skills (where's my teleprompter!), persuasion skills (Olympics, Iran), governing skills (cash for clunkers, phantom districts getting stimulus cash), leadership skills (still dithering on Afghanistan), listening skills (closes Republicans out of all negotiations on health care, won't read Palin's book, etc.), legal reasoning skills (decision to try KSM in criminal court may go down as the dumbest ever), non-ideological thinking skills (how did so many radical Mao-loving communists become "czars" in the WH?), even-handedness (ask former IG Gerald Walpin about that) have been demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt. I'm not blaring a radio rudely but building a case systematically and proving it daily. Why? Well, more people read it than the usual crew of spitballers who react to them, and every time I quit for a season I get asked by names who never show up in the day-to-day banter to return. Since I also happen to enjoy it, I indulge. Beats smashing television sets in a blind rage. :) - Publius "It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country, under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful and vigilant performance of the trust."
