No, I think Pete's a bit more straight-laced in the humor department than myself, and there's nothing wrong with his old-fashioned sense of honor. But I know he has a good heart, all that blather about him supposedly being racist notwithstanding. Pete is at a stage in his life when many of the ideas we kick around like hackey-sacks seem a bit more personally consequential than either of us appear to take them. That's also why he tends to be more circumspect about the abstract stuff that ruffles my feathers. > >> LOL, I'm sure there are far more Fabio's and Bruce's who remember YOU >> than there are Olga's in Russia....and there are quite a few of those! >> > My dear Minimus, your ignorance of everything latin gladdens my heart. > Bruce is not a latin name at all. I just thought you were a "man of the world" and not confined to borders. Could it be true, that I'm better traveled, yea, even more worldly, than you? Olguita? Lame. You're going to have to find an original angle on this, or I simply won't be offended. ;) > >> Pete's a decent guy, which is partly why you hate him. > Yes, Petey is one of those decent guys who would do the decent thing and > call the authorities on fugitive jews (that would be the Gestapo), after > all, that was the appropriate thing to do in Germany in those days. Well that's mighty whitey of you. ;) - Publius "It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country, under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful and vigilant performance of the trust."
