Dear Reynards and Vixens:
I got bit by a misleading error message.
My classes are all in code. I made some minor changes to one
class, mainly deleting things that were no longer used. The
subsequent run blew up with an error of
Expression is not valid outside of WITH/ENDWITH.
when I tried to instantiate the class.
I reviewed my changes and found that I had omitted the period
at the end of a false constant, namely having typed
.f
instead of
.f.
To my surprise, the error that I made is documented as a cause
of this error:
"You might have forgotten an ending period with a value such as
true (.T.), false (.F.) or a null value (.NULL.)
Check for matching periods on either side of the constant."
Sincerely,
Gene Wirchenko
