Considering that the couple were already set for a tour the  next day
by their Congressman or Senator I would have thought that they had a
quick background check done.  WAG here I have no idea what happens
there.

How the workers of the WH let them in is the issue.  And heads will
bow to unemployment lines or to families   getting moved out of DC to
crappy secret service work locations.
