Use "ifconfig" from the command line in Linux and it will probably work as well for Mac. Here is the manual page for the ifconfig:
http://linuxcommand.org/man_pages/ifconfig8.html If you reset your misbehaving router, and it is not suffering from a hardware failure, it will go back to the default setting, as it was initially received new in the box, including the default IP address. This would give you a know IP address for the router, and allow you to access its interface. Then you could assign the router any IP address you liked. You may need to get on the internet and find the manual for the router. The manual will give you the routers defaults, including IP address and password.
