Have you tried:

Use pempw in select("pempw") exclu

This will close the table first if it is already in use.

That's what I wanted. I kept looking in the wrong place.....

Since a few months ago, I keep getting an erratic dumb fault on my pc
Consider the following code
(My pc, development mode, absolutely no-one else could open these free
standing tables)

sele pempw
use pempw excl
pack

It returns dumb messages like Cannot update the cursor since it is read-only

It does this about once every 5 times
Any help anyone ?
