World population is growing at an exponential rate, which mean human induced pollution is also increasing exponentially. The current world population is about 6.75 billion and will increase to 9 billion by 2040.
China and India are emerging economies with huge populations, and as their populations become more affluent, (eg middle class), they will buy more autos, use more electricity for various household goods, etc, which means they will use more and more based carbon fuels like petroleum, natural gas, coal, etc. In order to generate energy from carbon based products, oxygen is essential for the burning process, and the by product of using energy from carbon based products is CO2, a greenhouse gas. You and I are also carbon based creatures that must have oxygen in order to burn calories for energy, and the by product of our existence is CO2. You will recall the example in the youtube video I provided some weeks ago, about the exponential growth of bacteria in a finite space, how quickly the space was filled in the last few minutes of the hours. Is it possible in our current situation of a finite space, (eg planet earth), and exponential growth in world population, that it is 1 minute before 12:00 until we are out of space and time? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population Regards, LelandJ On 01/08/2010 10:16 AM, Michael Madigan wrote: > > Additionally, average world temperature is declining even though co2 levels > are skyrocketing. > > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Satellite_Temperatures.png > > Notice the temperature declines since 2005.
