This update was so rich, it deserved its own thread.

Another unsolicited statement, as Reid's camp works frantically to put
out the fire:
"I have learned of certain unfortunate comments made by Senator
Reid regarding President Barack Obama and have spoken with Senator
Reid about those comments. While there is no question that Senator
Reid did not select the best word choice in this instance, these
comments should not distract America from its continued focus on
securing healthcare or creating jobs for its people. Nor should they
detract from the unquestionable leadership role Senator Reid has
played on these issues or in the area of civil rights. Senator Reid's
door has always been open on hearing from the civil rights community
on these issues and I look forward to continue to work with Senator
Reid wherever possible to improve the lives of Americans everywhere."

One of the reasons I love Limbaugh is that his satire is spot on. So
spot on, that when reality proves it so, it's almost embarrassing.
So, Reid's racist comments during the campaign are unearthed in a new
book. It makes Imus' joke look silly because even the context of the
comment or, frankly, who said it cannot be explained benignly, but
immediately The One accepts the apology. And the MSM is working
overtime to sweep it under the rug on a weekend. Nothing new there.
Well and good. Now, enter Sharpton, who in a classically wordy way
basically said what Obama said. Bygones be bygones.
Limbaugh, via comedic genius Paul Shanklin, has not one, but two,
long-standing relevant parodies, both of which score consecutive
three-pointers in this situation---they don't even come close to the
rim, just whoooosh right through the hoop.
The first is of course his Justice Brothers series, which parody
Jackson & Sharpton as "broadcast insurance" pimps, ready to come up
with a defense for anyone who says a racially stupid thing "if you're
insured with us -- the Justice Brothers. Because when it comes to
justice, it's Just Us."
The other is his spoof of the LA Times (white liberal op-ed) article
about Barack Obama being the "magic Negro" in much the same breath as
Biden's comments at the beginning of the campaign, and Reid's comments
during the heat of the runoffs with Clinton. To the tune of "Puff the
Magic Dragon," Limbaugh's "Barack the magic Negro" even includes
Sharpton on his megaphone bitching that Obama gets all the attention,
and questioning his racial authenticity.
Limbaugh took heat for both (and will be milking this Monday for all
its worth, to be sure) but really the anger ought to be directed at
the real racists -- these morons who call themselves liberals but
really are totalitarians, using whatever manufactured grievances they
can to divide people for their own political gain and power.
No episode makes that more manifest than Reid's comments about Obama.
Well, not counting Biden's, which we may safely assume were
plagiarized, given how many with his mentality there are in the modern
Democrat party.

P.S. As a side note, the book that spilled the beans on Reid (Game
Change) also has a juicy tidbit about Kennedy getting offended when
Bill Clinton told him, about Obama, "a few years ago this guy would be
getting us coffee"... LOL! You can't make this sh*t up!

"It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country,
under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object
of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to
subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign
powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of
them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be
avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose
situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful
and vigilant performance of the trust." [Federalist Papers #59]
