Hey there Paul & Mike,

I was wondering if you someone was going to bring up questions like you
asked.

Being that I am writing from my work e-mail, I will have to be a little
subtle with my response.

So - Paul - yeah I agree with your point & I am have been checking out
my options. As for it being sanctioned - its not really.

And - Mike - to answer your question as well - you see, its kinda
complicated.

I heard that the guy was actually part owner of this co. some years ago.
But, I suspect since he was such a mess - he gave up his part. Probably
gambled it away! And, the thing is - he was one of the original
developers of the system. And, the big problem my boss faces - and why
he can't outright let the guy go - is that he is the MAIN Guy here doing
the EDI parts of the system. The other 2 programmers here doing VFP -
besides myself - do some of the EDI stuff. And, I tackle client problems
involving EDI as much as possible. And, we also (the other 2 & myself)
work on EDI setups for clients when they sign up with new Trading
partners.

But - since the old guy is still the MAIN EDI support guy - and the
others here haven't bothered to really try to be better at handling the
problems - my boss is too afraid to let this guy go. And, funny thing is
- looks like he has gone missing again (although I haven't heard any
official word about him showing up late) - since he is normally supposed
to be here at 9:30am - and its now 10:05am.

So - that's how the ball bounces around here!

:-)

This should be a leading indicator that you may want to look for a
different job, if
people are openly getting away with this (assuming it isn't openly
sanctioned, that is!)

;)
