        Your analogy is patently false on its face. Microsoft was a software 
company that worked with hardware producers to eventually gain monopoly share 
of the market. They then used that position to threaten hardware companies that 
didn't follow Microsoft's wishes.

        Apple is a vertical provider: hardware, software, content... they don't 
have a monopoly position in either handheld devices, smartphones, notebooks, 
netbooks, ebook readers, music players or anything else. The only thing they 
have a monopoly on is Apple products. They are not threatening third-party 
businesses, because they don't need third-party businesses; they do it all 
themselves.
