Actually I've written about this many times on my website. Even documented at the following link how we have lost 1 million jobs paying over 80,000 per year during the 2001 - 2007 period.

Didn't think so. If you go to shadowstats.com you will find that the unemployment number is above 20% If you go to the IRS Databook series, you will find that there are about 154 million people that work for wages and file some version of a 1040 20% * 154 million is about 30 million out of work. Whats even worse is that our corporations quit investing locally in 2007, long before this supposed crisis happened because of the sub prime mortgage crisis. I've documented that in this article using the BEA numbers http://keepamericaatwork.com/?p=5379 For myself, I believe that the subprime mortgage is only a symptom of the actual problem which is that each country is sending their jobs to the cheapest bidder. Oh well, I could go on and on about this subject, and especially the GDP, but whats the use... -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Publius Maximus Sent: Wednesday, February 03, 2010 12:03 PM To: ProFox Email List Subject: [OT] U.S. May Lose 824,000 as Employment Data Revised http://bit.ly/8XURXu - - - Feb. 3 (Bloomberg Multimedia) -- The U.S. may lose 824,000 jobs when the government releases its annual revision to employment data on Feb. 5, showing the labor market was in worse shape during the recession than known at the time. - - - I guess this means the number "saved or created" will also have to be increased dramatically. </sarcasm> - Publius -- "It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country, under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful and vigilant performance of the trust."
