It let me tell you how I got there, briefly. Qemu and KVM are the VMs I use on Fedora, so I thought I'd Google for ways of detecting them, and the hit seemed to match exactly what you were asking. I expect that you had searched, though you didn't say so - which might have been informative - but I thought the answer so well matched your query (and not mine!) that I ought to point out how I got there. "Teach a man to fish" and all that. One of the most frustrating things in offering help in forums is the lack of information the questioner provides.
