Awhile back, Ed and Kevin wrote some nice apps to convert your DBFs into MySQL tables. At the time, there was some idea that making your column width in multiples of 8 was a good thing for MySQL to optimize (I'm guessing because of internal word sizes?).
Is this still the case, does anyone know?
