I just had a realization that this is all an elaborate head fake. The Dem leadership is using Reconciliation and now this bogus Executive Order supposedly contradicting the abortion provisions in the Senate bill to get wavering Dems to sign onto the Senate bill as-is.
A fatal language flaw was found by Republicans in the content of the Reconciliation package that precludes it from making it through the Senate as such (meaning, hello Filibuster). So, no Demon Pass. No Reconciliation. Hello Senate Bill, as is, signed by the President as soon as Pelosi's signature dries. The calculation on the Dem side must be that they can lose a huge number of members in the fall but won't lose enough to lose control. So, they're tricking their own members into signing their own death warrant to get the Senate bill passed, period. Cruel, but efficient.
