They are perfect appliances for email and Facebook and other web browsing. I just shutdown and restarted my wife's Win 7 netbook. Cold to login in 20 seconds. Normally it goes into hibernation, which is even faster. Since the initial setup 3 months ago it has only been rebooted once before this time.
