Lots of needless purchases too.  I just had to buy a walker, a commode and a 
shower seat for my uncle.  Most of it was paid for by medicare.

There is no mechanism for medicare to get used equipment.  Some people use the 
equipment for a few weeks after recovery, then it isn't used again.
