We had 60,000 people "disappear" by a military government, sometimes over politics and sometimes just to rob their property, or bed a wife. Businessmen who were ok with govvt took debt abroad, then govt took care of that debt. We finally got them out after the Falklands war, but the country was an economic disaster and institutions were non existent, had 20% inflation *a month*. To make it short, we finally defaulted our debt, got kicked out of the financial circuits, etc. Now we've had 7 years at 8% growth. This last year things are worse but we didn't get hit so much thanks to the fact that primary products get a good price abroad. None of this was done whining. I hope we learned to work with your rivals when they've won, instead of damning everything they do and destroying it next time we are in power. We still have a lot to learn and lots of chances for disaster, but we are doing better, with ups and downs. Current govt is not liked at all, but no one thinks about interrupting it. It will be outvoted next time.
